Notes:
  • These categories include malignant neoplasms only, except Bladder (C67) which could include some disease entities that might have been coded in incidence (but not mortality) statistics to the ICD-10 category D09.0 (carcinoma in-situ of the bladder).
  • For the category All cancers but non-melanoma skin cancer, the number of new cases and deaths were estimated as the sum of the corresponding 27 site-specific numbers plus those that comprise the residual other and unspecified cancers (latter group not presented).
  • No attempt was made to estimate incidence and mortality from non-melanoma skin cancer (ICD-10 C44) because of the difficulties in collecting (and counting) such tumours.
  • The categories Kaposi sarcoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and All cancers but non-melanoma skin cancer include some disease entities that might have been coded in mortality (but not incidence) statistics to the ICD-10 category B21 (HIV disease resulting in neoplasms).
