Scale:

 Ranking: The class limits are assigned according to the rank of the values. The five classes are organised so that each class has the same number of countries. The range of the rates is not the same for each class.

 Absolute: The class limits are assigned after taking into account the overall range of values. The five classes are computed by taking the difference between the maximum and the minimum values, then by dividing this by five. The intervals between classes are therefore equal. This presentation highlights extreme values.
